John Przypyszny Comments on Future Accreditation Power of National Association for Academic Excellence in The Chronicle of Higher Education
Education partner John Przypyszny commented on the likelihood of the National Association for Academic Excellence (NAAE) being granted accreditation power by the federal government in an article for The Chronicle of Higher Education.
The article noted that under current federal regulations, new accreditors must first demonstrate how it will enforce its standards in a two-year trial run with a higher-ed institution. The NAAE has been unable to secure an institution to take on the trial run.
Przypyszny noted that enabling a quick influx of fresh faces into accreditation would require overhauling the regulations and cast doubt of that possibility. Przypyszny said it will take “an awful lot” of work for the NAAE to secure recognition.
