Matt Levy Discusses International Trade, Major M&A Deals in Profile for The Indiana Lawyer

In an article for the Indiana Lawyer, corporate partner Matthew Levy provided an overview of his career and practice as a leading attorney for international companies.

Levy noted that while he began his career helping companies meet their transactional needs mainly in China, his practice now includes work in over 50 countries. He added that working and developing relationships with clients, companies, regulators and others across the world is one of his favorite parts of his job.

“So, it’s a lot of fun to develop relationships with people who have such different backgrounds and viewpoints than you,” Levy said. “It really gives you a different perspective on what’s happening in the world and how that might impact your deal, and it adds a level of complexity onto my practice that keeps it interesting and ensures that I’m always growing professionally.”

As co-leader of the firm’s international industry group, Levy said that his role now includes administrative tasks, including making strategic decisions to ensure the firm is in the best place to meet market demands. Lastly, Levy predicted M&A deals to increase in the second half of the year as businesses become more comfortable taking bigger risks, particularly through factors like tariffs, inflation and higher interest rates. Levy also noted that the digital economy, through sources like artificial intelligence, will continue to boom due to the increasing needs for digital security and privacy.
