Ken Dort Quoted in SC Media on Supply Chain Security

Chicago partner Ken Dort was quoted in an SC Media article titled “Supply and Demand (for security).” The article discussed the impact felt in 2018, the year that raised the alarm about potential vulnerabilities in the supply chain for enterprise computing systems and questioned how organizations can plug potential leaks. Nearly as many people in the United States (80%) still fear that supply chain attacks potentially will become one of the biggest threats in the next three years.

As enterprises, =big and small, public and private, become dependent on third-party providers in every step of their supply chain = to reduce costs and improve efficiencies, concern over supply chain interlopers is likely to increase. Ken believes that rather than change the way suppliers are used, organizations should incorporate more reviews into existing processes. Additionally, Ken said enterprises should consider working with “fewer, but more high-quality vendors, and work toward having redundant options [and] be prepared to consider secondary vendors in the event of emergencies.”
