Kathy Osborn Discusses Bayer, Monsanto Deal with Politico

In an article for Politico, Faegre Baker Daniels partner Kathy Osborn discussed how a Bayer and Monsanto merger “could avoid any complications from overlapping businesses” due to their unique concentrations on different elements of the agriculture input market. Osborn also observed that divestitures are common in larger mergers and those, if any, that might need to occur as a result of the Bayer Monsanto merger likely would be limited. The proposed merger is the third involving seed and agrochemical companies with international footprints to be proposed in the past 12 months.
