Libby Baney Weighs in on Domain Registration Debate in CIO

ICANN, the regulatory body responsible for overseeing online domain name registration, has asked for public comment on a potential decision to prohibit domains from being registered without requiring individuals' personal information such as physical addresses. A staff report from ICANN about the possible policy change is due July 21.

Libby Baney, senior director at FaegreBD Consulting and a participant in ICANN's working group, was mentioned in an article discussing the policy in CIO.

"[Baney] said that the policy was aimed at providing parity in the digital world for businesses that are already required to provide public registration of their information in the offline world," the article said.
