Change to Grow, Lead to Change: Thoughts from the FaegreBD Franchise Summit

Chair of the Faegre Baker Daniels franchise practice, Brian Schnell, authored an article for Law Journal Newsletter's Franchising Business & Law Alert focusing on the firm's franchise summit, which has been held annually since 2006. This year's summit, which drew more than 100 franchise executives from more than 50 companies around North America, was keynoted by Steve Romaniello, chair of the International Franchise Association (IFA) and managing director at Roark Capital.

In the article, Schnell explains how the summit helps franchise executives focus on the most important aspect of a franchise – collaboration. "The energy of the franchise system ought to be focused on beating the competition; not on beating one another," Schnell noted.
