DOL Investigations: What You Don't Know Might Hurt You

Benefits Pro

Los Angeles counsel Heather Abrigo wrote an article for Benefits Pro titled, “DOL Investigations: What You Don't Know Might Hurt You.”

Heather notes that it is not uncommon for plan sponsors to find themselves in receipt of an investigatory letter from the Department of Labor (DOL). Such letters notify the plan sponsor that the DOL will be investigating the plan, perhaps in the form of a “limited review” and at other times, a full scope investigation.

Heather outlines what plan sponsors should be aware of, regardless of the scope of the investigation.
