Increases to Statutory Sick Pay and Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Pay in April 2009

The draft Social Security Benefits Up-rating Order 2009 has been published. This contains the revised weekly rates of statutory sick pay (SSP), statutory maternity pay (SMP), statutory paternity pay (SPP) and statutory adoption pay (SAP) for 2009 - 2010.

The draft Order states that from 6 April 2009:

  • The weekly rate of SSP will be £79.15 (an increase from £75.40).
  • The prescribed weekly rate of SMP, SPP and SAP will be £123.06 (an increase from £117.18).
