Termination of Copyright Grants: What Every IP Practitioner Should Know
Overview
Janet Fries, of counsel to the Washington, D.C., office, participated in a panel discussion at the D.C. Bar Conference Center on Wednesday, May 9.
The event, “Termination of Copyright Grants: What every IP Practitioner Should Know,” featured a panel of copyright lawyers and experts discussing legal, procedural, substantive and practical issues surrounding terminations of transferred copyrights.
The panel provided useful instruction and discussion surrounding this valuable right, available to authors and heirs, which allows these individuals to “re-capture” copyrights once transferred in written agreements to third parties.
