Social Media & Compliance: Policies, Protocols and Promotion

Chicago partner Ira Kalina will speak at the 2012 Ethics & Compliance Officer Association (ECOA) Sponsoring Partner Forum in Washington, D.C., May 11.

The ECOA Sponsoring Partner Forum is designed exclusively for ECOA Sponsoring Partner members as well as Full Government members; it facilitates the sharing ideas and lessons learned with other ethics and compliance professionals.

Ira, vice-chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group, will co-present “Social Media & Compliance: Policies, Protocols and Promotion” with Seth Cohen, head of Policy and Processes, Zurich North America Compliance Office.

The session will focus on two aspects of the meteoric rise in popularity of social media: the development and implementation of social media policies, and the internal and external compliance and privacy considerations.  Examples of corporate social media strategies will be presented.  Additionally, the session will explore how ethics and compliance practitioners should consider the implications of both inbound and outbound social media.
