Recent Developments to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act

Washington, D.C. Partner Mike Remington and Washington, D.C., Of Counsel Janet Fries presented a Bloomberg BNA webinar Thursday, Nov. 7 on recent developments to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Mike and Janet gave the presentation at a time that more and more copyrightable subject matter is being posted to the Internet (because of the dramatic growth in e-commerce and social media).

The DCMA includes notice and a takedown procedure and addresses content owners’ copyright management information. It also includes certain “safe harbors” for service providers and other provisions relating to secondary liability.
