Overview

Washington, D.C., of counsel Janet Fries served on a panel “Legal Couture: A Legal Perspective of the Fashion Industry” at this fashion law seminar hosted by the Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts and the Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce. The program was designed for fashion designers, students and professionals and lawyers interested in the legal aspects of the fashion industry. The discussion focused on fashion law, intellectual property rights for fashion designers and entrepreneurs, licensing and manufacturing agreements and importing and exporting laws related to designers and business owners. Janet discussed copyright law and proposed legislation for the fashion industry, as well as contract formation and negotiation.
