Understanding New PBM Laws and Drug Cost Developments Through Real-World Scenarios: Legal & Strategic Insights

Insurance partner Jay Warmuth and associate Evan Bonnstetter presented a seminar titled “Understanding New PBM Laws and Drug Cost Developments Through Real-World Scenarios: Legal & Strategic Insights” at Minnesota CLE’s 2025 Health Law Institute.

The program provided an overview of recent federal developments affecting pharmacy benefit managers (PBM) and drug costs, including relevant executive orders, FTC actions and recent and upcoming impacts from the Inflation Reduction Act. Warmuth and Bonnstetter also discussed the continuing trend of additional PBM regulation at the state level, including in states like Arkansas, Iowa and North Carolina. The speakers closed by giving an update on overall industry trends and key takeaways from the program.
