Regulatory and Litigation Update

At the Meat Institute’s Environment, Labor and Safety+ Conference, litigation partner Chris Dolan led a presentation that emphasized the importance of the meat industry maintaining a long-term perspective on compliance, beyond the current federal deregulation trends under the Trump administration. 

Despite federal rollbacks on environmental regulations, such as those related to greenhouse gas emissions and environmental justice, state and local governments, as well as international organizations, customers, and investors, continue to enforce stricter standards. Dolan advised processors to stay committed to their sustainability goals and prepare for future administrations that may reinstate stringent environmental policies.
