On September 27, 2022, Faegre Drinker Senior Counsel Janet Fries served as a guest lecturer for a Georgetown University Law Center class entitled “Strategically Managing Intellectual Property: A Study of IP In Business Transactions” in Washington, D.C. Janet spoke on the currently pending U.S. Supreme Court case Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc. v. Goldsmith, in which the court will decide whether Andy Warhol's prints of Lynn Goldsmith’s photograph of Prince were sufficiently transformative from Goldsmith to fall within fair use, along with other relevant cases in the area of intellectual property law in the art industry.
