Supply Chain Security – U.S. and Canada Drug Importation Policies and the Public Health

Faegre Drinker Partner Libby Baney addressed the Rx-360 Supply Chain Steering Committee to discuss legal and public policy updates on prescription drug importation. She briefed the group on the status of the HHS wholesale drug importation final rule and state applications to HHS, the politics of personal drug importation and the Canadian government response to both policies. She also discussed the latest developments in the implementation of the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), including a recent FDA proposed rule concerning prescription drug wholesalers and third-party logistics providers.
