Nexus Between Regulators, Legislators, and the Judicial System and Its Influence on Health Care

Faegre Drinker government and regulatory partner and senior advisor to the Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies Libby Baney moderated two panels in a session on "Nexus Between Regulators, Legislators, and the Judicial System and Its Influence on Health Care" at The Tri-Regulatory Symposium on October 13, 2022. The first panel spoke on “The Political Challenges of Misinformation — The Influence of Government on State Regulatory Bodies,” discussing the misinformation swirling around the COVID-19 pandemic, which played a crucial role in how both federal and state governments influenced state regulators and their collective response. The second panel spoke on “Legislative and Judicial Actions and Their Impact on Health Care,” discussing experiences regarding various legislative and judicial actions, including Roe v. Wade, as well as COVID-19-related enforcements (e.g., vaccine mandates and masking) and the effect they have had on the delivery of health care.
