Overview

On October 27, 2022, Faegre Drinker Senior Counsel Janet Fries participated in a panel discussion entitled “The Art Law and Entertainment Society's Intellectual Property Panel: The Supreme Court Meets Andy Warhol” at the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. The program was a heavily attended and spirited discussion of the currently pending U.S. Supreme Court case Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc. v. Goldsmith, in which the court will decide whether Andy Warhol's prints of Lynn Goldsmith’s photograph of Prince were sufficiently transformative from Goldsmith to fall within fair use.
