Anatomy of the Balance Sheet

Webinar

Overview

Richard Bernard is speaking on the “Anatomy of the Balance Sheet” at PLI’s Basics of Accounting for Lawyers 2021. The webinar will cover:

  • The elements of a balance sheet — assets, liabilities, and stockholders’ equity and their significance
  • What to look for when reading a balance sheet
  • Current assets, such as cash, receivables, inventories, investments in debt and equity securities, and fixed and other long-term assets, including intellectual property and goodwill
  • Current liabilities, leases, long-term debt, pension and other post-retirement benefits, other long-term liabilities, and the common components of stockholders’ equity

Designed for lawyers of all experience levels, the program reviews which common accounting concepts emerge in legal work and what lawyers should consider when encountering them. Having a basic knowledge of accounting concepts empowers lawyers in their practice, allowing them to better understand the full picture of legal matters they work on that involve elements of accounting or finance.
