Practical Tips for Complying with Pay Equity Laws

Overview

Partners Cheryl Orr (San Francisco) and Lynne Anderson (Florham Park) will serve as moderator and panelist, respectively, at the Association of Corporate Counsel San Francisco Bay Area Chapter’s CLE programs, “Practical Tips for Complying with Pay Equity Laws” on September 5 at the EPIC Steak in San Francisco and September 6 at the Garden Court Hotel in Palo Alto. The program is sponsored by Drinker Biddle.

The panel will provide an update on equal pay laws passed by state legislatures across the country, in addition to the EEOC’s collection of pay data through EEO-1 Component 2/Pay-Data Reporting.

Against this background, the panel will discuss how to work with a statistical expert to conduct a privileged pay equity audit, including how to respond to practical challenges that typically arise during the audit process. The panel also will discuss the inclusion in the audit of a review of policies, practices and protocols that impact pay to protect against systemic disparities.

Cheryl and Lynne will be joined by Kimberly Bennion Carvill, Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Robert Half, and Jonathan Blumenstein, Principal at Charles River Associates.
