The Latest Updates on the California Consumer Privacy Act: What You Can Do to Prepare Now for 2020

Webinar

Overview

Join us for a webinar focusing on the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which takes effect on January 1, 2020. The CCPA, which was signed by former Governor Jerry Brown in 2018, is a broad, sweeping privacy regulation that will affect businesses both inside and outside of California. Amendments are in the works, and the California Attorney General has the right to publish regulations and bring enforcement actions in July 2020, or sooner.

Join us to discuss:

  •  A brief overview of the CCPA
  • Updates on the current amendments, including the expansion to include individual private right of action
  • A discussion about the public policy considerations of the CCPA and of relevant pending California legislation that could affect the CCPA
  • A checklist of things to do to prepare your business with a specific focus on what you can do before the law settles

Presenters:

  • Amie Peele Carter, Partner, Faegre Baker Daniels
  • Paul Luehr, Partner, Faegre Baker Daniels
  • Jigar Gandhi, Associate, Faegre Baker Daniels
