Chicago partner Cristin Obsitnik presented at a CLE for the Chicago Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) on January 8, titled “Executive Compensation: Latest Trends and Hot Topics.”
Cristin was joined by guest speakers Michael Oettinger (Expert Counsel – Benefits, Walgreens) and Lori Lenard (Senior Counsel, Asst. Sec. Compensation and Benefits, Discover Financial Services).
The program covered trends and challenges in change in control, employment agreements and severance arrangements; how companies can protect themselves through the use of restrictive covenants, clawbacks and other forfeiture provisions; short and long-term incentive programs; and the repeal of the Section 162(m) performance-based exception and its impact on taxability and performance pay.
