Beyond #MeToo: Proactively Navigating the Next Wave of Equal Pay and Gender Discrimination Challenges

Overview

San Francisco partner Cheryl Orr presented at the Association of Corporate Counsel San Francisco Bay Area Chapter’s July CLE program on July 26 at the Epic Roasthouse in San Francisco. The program was sponsored by Drinker Biddle.

Cheryl participated as part of a panel discussion titled “Beyond #MeToo: Proactively Navigating the Next Wave of Equal Pay and Gender Discrimination Challenges.” The panel explored proactive steps employers can take to avoid being targets for class action equal pay and gender discrimination class actions, including how to conduct pay equity audits, address structural issues that contribute to pay disparities, and find and correct toxic corporate cultures that spawn litigation.

Panelists included Karen E.C. Sullivan, VP and Senior Counsel for Human Resources at Bank of the West, and Nicole Armstrong, Associate General Counsel for Global Employment Law at Pure Storage.
