Florham Park partner Lynne Anderson and Washington, D.C. partner Jesse Witten presented at Seton Hall Law School’s Healthcare Compliance Certification Program on June 12. Their presentation, “The Perils of Dealing with Whistleblowers Under the False Claims Act,” discussed how to handle potential whistleblowers.
Lynne participated on a panel titled “Being the Focus of a Government Investigation.” Mike Doyle of the FBI, Jacob Elberg of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of New Jersey, and Scott McBride of Lowenstein Sandler joined Lynne on the panel. Seton Hall Law School senior associate dean Timothy Glynn moderated.
The biannual program provided a comprehensive overview of state, federal and international law governing prescription drugs and medical devices. Topics included privacy and data protection, FDA approval and regulation, anti-kickback laws, health care fraud sentencing, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the False Claims Act. The four-day conference is attended by in-house counsel, compliance officers and other senior and compliance employees of pharma, life sciences and other health care companies.
