Hot Topics in ERISA Plan Litigation: Learning from the Mistakes of Others

Chicago partner Sarah Millar and counsel Rick Pearl presented at the In-House Benefits Counsel Network’s Fifth National Forum on April 24, 2017. The three-day forum was held in New York City and featured presentations and breakout sessions on the most current and challenging employee benefits and executive compensation topics affecting today’s business environment.

Sarah and Rick presented, “Hot Topics in ERISA Plan Litigation: Learning from the Mistakes of Others.” They discussed today’s hot topics, including anti-assignment, exhaustion and mandatory arbitration provisions; claims procedures; plan document requests; employer stock litigation; and 401(k) fee/investment litigation. Approximately 70 in-house ERISA lawyers representing primarily public companies and larger private companies attended.
