Copyright: Reviewing the Copyright Landscape

Overview

Washington, D.C. of counsel Janet Fries moderated a program at the ABA IP Law Spring Conference on April 7.

The panel, titled, “Copyright: Reviewing the Copyright Landscape,” reviewed and analyzed the nation’s copyright laws and copyright administration. Topics included:

  • Hearings on copyright issues since 2013;
  • Copyright Office policy studies;
  • Copyright Office modernization discussions; and
  • Insights about the state of copyright law in the digital environment.

Janet was joined by Joe Keeley, chief counsel, House Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet; and Maria Pallante, Register of Copyrights/Director, U.S. Copyright Office, Washington, D.C.
