Faegre Drinker announced today that Dan Coppel has joined the firm as a corporate partner in the London office.
Coppel offers clients more than 25 years of experience, which includes heading the work on several landmark transactions. His practice focuses on cross-border private M&A, private equity and joint venture deals and restructurings. He is a trusted counsellor to the boards of several clients and advises on corporate governance and strategy — including dispute resolution — as well as divestments and acquisitions. Coppel’s sectoral specialisms are varied, including technology, manufacturing, automotive and real estate investment.
“We are excited to welcome Dan to the firm,” said Matt Meyers and Keith Radtke, co- leaders of Faegre Drinker’s corporate practice group in a joint statement. “The extensive mergers and acquisitions and other transactional experience he brings will be greatly valued by our clients and the firm.”
Coppel was recognized by Chambers for mergers and acquisitions work under English law, private equity transactions, and energy and natural resources work. He is also recommended by PLC, International Financial Law Review and The Legal 500 for mergers and acquisitions. He led teams recognized by both Legal Week and The Lawyer for “Deal of the Year” and “Corporate Team of the Year,” respectively.
“Our international offering is a key growth area for Faegre Drinker,” said London office leader Alex Denny. “Dan’s addition strengthens our cross-border corporate team and further bolsters our dedication to delivering exceptional service to our clients. I am thrilled to welcome Dan to the firm.”
Prior to joining Faegre Drinker, Dan served as a partner and co-head of the London corporate group of an international law firm. He has previously practiced law in New York and Moscow.
Coppel earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Leeds and completed his legal practice course at the College of Law, Chester.
Made up of corporate, securities, tax and finance attorneys, Faegre Drinker’s corporate practice is one of the largest in the United States, serving as legal adviser to clients on their most critical strategic transactions and business decisions. Attorneys in the group are leaders in middle-market M&A — collectively guiding clients through more than 750 transactions over the past three years, with a cumulative deal value of more than $100 billion — and serve as primary securities compliance and corporate governance counsel for more than 50 public companies.
