Faegre Drinker announced today that David F. Herman has joined the firm as counsel in the litigation practice in Philadelphia. Herman is the latest addition to the firm’s Philadelphia office, following litigation partners Richard Scheff, Carrie Sarhangi Love, Katharine Ladd and Jonathan Boughrum, who joined the firm in early September 2023.
Herman helps clients navigate all aspects of a case from initial investigations through appeals. He has significant experience on issues ranging from regulatory compliance and government investigations, financial services litigation, and complex commercial litigation, and regularly advises clients on how to achieve their goals while navigating complex and multifaceted regulatory environments.
Herman has litigated and resolved multiple nationwide class actions seeking damages in the hundreds of millions of dollars, including suits alleging violations of civil racketeering statutes and state usury laws.
“Dave’s experience defending sophisticated clients in complex litigation matters across the mid-Atlantic, makes him a great addition to our firm,” said Dan Aiken, leader of the firm’s Philadelphia office. “We are excited to continue adding to our strength in Philadelphia with skilled attorneys like Dave.”
Herman regularly defends clients through all stages of civil and criminal investigations and enforcement proceedings, regularly representing nonbank lenders and fintech companies interfacing with state and federal regulators and consumer protection agencies. He also assists clients in understanding, preserving and asserting their appellate rights in state and federal appellate courts.
Herman earned his bachelor’s degree from Franklin & Marshall College and his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Temple University Beasley School of Law.
