Mindy Westrick Brown Returns to Faegre Drinker in Indianapolis

Faegre Drinker announced today that Mindy Westrick Brown has rejoined the firm as counsel in the government and regulatory practice group in the Indianapolis office. She returns to the firm from Indiana Energy Association, where she served as Vice President. Westrick Brown was formerly with Faegre Baker Daniels from 2008-2019.

Westrick Brown will collaborate with clients to manage and respond to opportunities and challenges at all levels of government, including legislative and administrative developments. In addition to advocating on behalf of Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, trade associations and local government, Westrick Brown advises local government boards and assists clients with compliance matters related to campaign finance, ethics, gaming, alcoholic beverages and lobbying regulations. She will be joining a team that works across practices and across the country on transactional, infrastructure and policy issues on which public and private sector entities collaborate.

“We're pleased to welcome Mindy back to the firm,” Faegre Drinker partner Murray Clark said in a statement. “Along with a broad proficiency in administrative law, she brings extensive experience advocating for clients at the Indiana General Assembly and before executive branch agencies and cities and a deep understanding of client needs and what it takes to help them achieve their goals.”

In her role as Vice President for the Indiana Energy Association (IEA), which represents 14 investor-owned electric and natural gas utilities, as well as a public charitable trust, Westrick Brown advanced the IEA’s mission of advocating for policies to promote the welfare of the energy industry and its role in enhancing Indiana’s economy and quality of life.

Westrick Brown previously worked as a government services specialist at Faegre Drinker, then Faegre Baker Daniels, during law school, and in 2006 participated in the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Services Series as the youngest local and national member admitted in the program's first 18 years.

In addition to her practice, Westrick Brown participates in numerous civic activities as both a member and leader, including serving on the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Board of Directors and as Vice Chair of the Marion County Republican Party. Westrick Brown also served as a Commissioner of the Metropolitan Development Commission of the City of Indianapolis. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Indianapolis and her Juris Doctor from Indiana University McKinney School of Law.
