Lica Tomizuka Selected as Minnesota Lawyer ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ Honoree

Faegre Drinker is proud to announce that Minneapolis partner Lica Tomizuka has been selected as a 2020 honoree for Minnesota Lawyer’s “Diversity and Inclusion” recognition, which honors individuals and organizations that have contributed to enabling diversity and inclusion within Minnesota’s legal community.

She was one of 19 honorees selected by an outside panel of judges who considered individuals and organizations with a consistent track record in advocating for diversity and inclusion.

Tomizuka is a champion of diversity and inclusion efforts at Faegre Drinker and in the Minnesota and national legal communities. She is a co-chair of the diverse lawyers and consultants resource group at Faegre Drinker and also serves on the firm’s diversity and inclusion committee, a cross-office group of thought leaders directing Faegre Drinker’s strategic diversity and inclusion goals through subcommittees devoted to hiring, retention, knowledge management, client collaboration and reporting. In addition, Tomizuka serves on a number of non-profit boards in the Twin Cities community including Twin Cities Diversity in Practice, which is a professional association of more than 60 legal employers in Minnesota working to attract, recruit, advance and retain attorneys of color. Tomizuka was also selected as Faegre Drinker’s Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow in 2013, served on the LCLD Fellows Alumni Executive Committee for a number of years, and co-founded and led a peer-mentoring program among fellows and fellows alumni.

In her legal practice at Faegre Drinker, Tomizuka serves clients by counseling them with respect to commercial property acquisition, disposition, development and financing transactions across the United States. In addition, she collaborates with clients to form strategies, find solutions, and advance business goals in all aspects of commercial real estate and finance.
