Mary Hansen and Doug Heffner Recognized as “Go-To Thought Leaders”

Philadelphia partner Mary Hansen and Washington, D.C. partner Douglas Heffner have been selected as “Go-To Thought Leaders” by the National Law Review. The award recognizes 75 authors in 35 different practice areas for their contributions to thought leadership in their areas of focus. Hansen was noted for her thought leadership on SEC compliance and enforcement and Heffner for his writing on international trade and tariffs.

Hansen, co-chair of the firm’s White Collar Criminal Defense and Corporate Investigations team, focuses her practice on defending clients in regulatory investigations and white collar criminal proceedings in the securities industry. She also assists clients with internal investigations and compliance and prevention strategies. Prior to joining the firm, Hansen was an Assistant Director of the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement, where she was a member of the division’s Market Abuse and Municipal Securities and Public Pensions units. Heffner litigates customs and international trade matters including antidumping duty, countervailing duty and safeguard cases. He represents foreign companies in Canada, Europe, Japan and Mexico, as well as domestic producers in industries that range from high-tech to heavy industry, to consumer and industrial goods.
