Brian Perryman Quoted in Bloomberg Law on Class Action Settlement Websites

In the article “Class Settlement Portal, Other Innovations Could Improve Payouts,” Bloomberg Law covered several of the presentations from the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) public workshop on October 29, 2019, “Consumers and Class Action Notices,” which aimed at improving class action settlement notices for consumers.

Washington, DC, partner Brian Perryman served as a speaker on the workshop’s first panel, “Current Practices – Problems and Opportunities in Reaching Consumers.”

Among other topics, the panel discussed whether class defendants should post links to settlement websites directly on their company websites. Perryman said that clients may not want to use their marketing functions to notify class members. “It’s a bad look for the company,” he added.
