Ken Dort Quoted in Law360 on Uber Data Breach

Partner Ken Dort was quoted in an article for Law360 titled “States Stake Claim To Privacy Role With Uber Breach Pact,” which examines the $148 million data breach settlement between Uber and all fifty state attorneys general.

According to Ken, there are several key take-aways for other companies from this incident. “Figure out what your situation is and conduct a risk assessment, do data-mapping, implement appropriate protocols and procedures, and going forward, when you get lemons, make lemonade," Dort said. “If you find some problems, solve them and just make the notification, take your lumps, move on and use that incident as a learning experience, and don't repeat it down the road," he continued.
