Neil Olderman Provides Insights and Experience to Modern Healthcare on Hospital Outsourcing Arrangements

Chicago partner Neil Olderman was quoted in Modern Healthcare’s recent outsourcing issue.

In the article “Extra Steps Needed for Successful Outsourcing Relationships,” Neil explains why additional oversight may be necessary to optimize outsourcing arrangements. For example, incentivizing vendors to maintain certain metrics can improve performance. He stresses the importance of assigning hospital employees experienced in managing vendors and vendor relationships.

Neil was also quoted in the related story “Outsourcing Patient Interaction, Capital Planning Pays Off for Some Hospitals.” The article discusses the various ways in which hospitals and health systems are cutting costs through outsourcing. Neil points to savings on supplies and talent, along with the operations and management knowledge that outside vendors provide, as core benefits that providers can gain through entering into these vendor relationships.

Neil counsels hospital and health system clients on group purchasing arrangements, capital equipment acquisition, clinical and purchased services agreements, outsourcing arrangements and enterprise-wide strategic affiliations with vendors. Neil, along with Washington, D.C. Counsel Mark Phillips and Chicago Associate Jeanna Gunville, offer strategic review of outsourcing and group purchasing organization contracts.
