David Woolf Quoted in The Philadelphia Inquirer

Labor and Employment partner David Woolf was recently quoted in a Philadelphia Inquirer article, titled, “New Overtime Reality Starts U.S. Enterprises Strategizing.” The article discussed the new U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) overtime rule that will go into effect on December 1.

The new rule will force companies to pay most full-time workers overtime if their annual salary is less than $47,476. While this rule, like other major changes, present challenges to many small companies and nonprofits, David stated that larger companies are largely already undertaking the steps necessary to comply with the rule.

“They are preparing for it,” David said. “It’s the smaller companies that don’t always deal well with these issues. Those are the companies who are going to scramble to get this done.”
