FaegreBD Welcomes Joel Hammerman to Lead Firm's White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice in Chicago

Joel M. Hammerman has joined Faegre Baker Daniels as a partner to lead the firm’s white collar defense and investigations practice in Chicago.

Before joining FaegreBD, Hammerman served 12 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Chicago where he worked in the Securities and Commodities Fraud, Complex Fraud, Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering, and Financial Crimes and Special Prosecutions sections. During his distinguished career with the Department of Justice, he received multiple awards and recognition from federal agencies for his excellent work prosecuting fraud and abuse cases.

Hammerman’s practice at FaegreBD focuses on representing companies and individuals responding to government and regulatory inquiries, conducting corporate internal investigations, counseling clients on compliance matters, responding to allegations of fraud, and handling complex litigation.

Hammerman received his bachelor’s degree with highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
