Health Care Reform Update Featured in ASHHRA Newsletter

A client update penned by Sarah Millar, Dawn Sellstrom, Lindsay Goodman and John Arendshorst of the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Practice Group was featured in the ASHHRA Newsletter.

ASHHRA, or the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration, was founded in 1964 and is the nation’s only membership organization exclusively dedicated to meeting the professional needs of human resources leaders in health care.

The group’s Health Care Reform Update for Employee Benefit Plans is now an available feature for American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA) members.

The newsletter notes that the guide may help employers prepare for the significant new rules that become effective in 2014, including the employer shared responsibility mandate (i.e., the penalties that may be imposed on an employer that doesn’t offer certain health care coverage) and the prohibition on waiting periods in excess of 90 days, under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (health care reform).
