A Faegre Drinker team led by Pablo Svirsky, Sheremy Anderson and Mark Pihlstrom represented W.L. Gore in negotiating a critical distribution agreement with Olympus Corporation. The agreement provides Olympus Corporation with the exclusive distribution rights for the GORE® VIABIL® Biliary Endoprosthesis for endoscopic placement on an international basis. The agreement presents opportunities to elevate the standard of care, as both companies share a history of delivering innovative interventional therapeutic products to improve outcomes for patients. In connection with the distribution agreement, Faegre Drinker also worked with W. L. Gore in its negotiation of a transition agreement with Conmed, the prior distributor of the products.
Faegre Drinker worked collaboratively with W.L. Gore on both agreements over the course of a year, with each side's specialists working closely together on key issues. In particular, Victor Jonas and Emily Bayton worked closely with W. L. Gore's intellectual property team while Amy Johnson worked with W. L. Gore's regulatory and quality teams.
