The upcoming elections have the chance to be the most consequential midterms in recent memory. Affordability, the Iran war, and concerns surrounding artificial intelligence and the build-out of data centers are at the top of voters’ minds as they head to the polls, and President Trump looms large over all of them. Those issues, coupled with the recent efforts to drive nationwide redistricting and an expanding competitive federal and state electoral map, have created headwinds for Republicans and put both the US House and Senate in play. In addition to these factors, this midterm will impact what’s possible in the lame duck Congress and set the stage for the 120th Congress.
