Sector Focus Transition Launches New Approach

You may have noticed a change in our practice area structure earlier this year as the sunset of our former industry teams made way for the new Sector Focus areas. Faegre Drinker leadership identified five strategic sectors driving global commerce and growth: financial services, food and agribusiness, health and life sciences, manufacturing, and technology. These newly structured sector teams connect clients to attorneys and professionals across all disciplines to access the support required to address their unique goals and challenges.

2026 Partner Class and Counsel Promotions; Leadership Transitions

Faegre Drinker entered 2026 with a series of significant leadership updates that reflect the firm's continued growth and internal strength. Earlier this year, the firm announced the promotion of 19 attorneys to partner and six others to counsel across 10 practice areas and eight offices. Complementing these promotions, the firm has also designated a new roster of office and practice group leaders to guide the firm’s strategic direction. These transitions represent a deep bench of talent and a commitment to excellence that we are proud to share with our alumni community. We look forward to seeing the impact these leaders will have on our clients and our firm culture in the years ahead.

Faegre Drinker Welcomes Jennifer Fowler, Scott Angelo to Operations Leadership

Jennifer Fowler joined the operations leadership team on January 12. She will oversee the firm’s global talent strategy, including recruitment, professional development, and the overall lawyer and staff experience. With an extensive background in human resources and talent management within the legal industry, her arrival underscores the firm's ongoing commitment to investing in its people and fostering a culture of excellence. Fowler’s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring Faegre Drinker remains a premier destination for top legal and professional talent.

Scott Angelo also joined the firm as chief technology and innovation officer, where he leads our technology strategy, oversees security and infrastructure operations, and drives innovation to enhance client and business outcomes. In a previous role, Scott established a client-focused, award-winning digital innovation center in Pittsburgh — deploying automation, generative and agentic AI, and data analytics — helping to enhance collaboration across the firm. Scott brings experience from more than 30 years of guiding digital transformation, technology modernization and cybersecurity initiatives to benefit our firm and clients.

Faegre Drinker Announces 2025 Pro Bono Award Recipients

Faegre Drinker has announced the recipients of its 2025 Pro Bono Awards and Pro Bono Service Moment of the Year Awards, celebrating a year of significant community impact. This year’s honorees were recognized for their dedication to matters ranging from child welfare reform and domestic violence advocacy to post-conviction relief and prisoner reentry initiatives. One standout project involved a multi-attorney team that successfully leveraged new sentencing statutes to achieve a nearly 30-year sentence reduction in a test case. These awards underscore the firm's core value of service and its ongoing commitment to providing high-quality legal assistance to those in need.

Summer Associate Program Preparation Underway

The 2026 Summer Associate program kicks off on May 26, and we’re excited to welcome 72 participants to the firm this season! Associates are taking part in the 10-week program through 12 of our offices this year. They’ll begin the summer with a week of engaging firmwide and office-specific introduction events before joining projects with their new colleagues. Summer Associates from all offices will connect in person at our Summer Associate Summit in Chicago, taking place June 15-17.

Next Steps in Firmwide Generative AI Tools

On May 18, Faegre Drinker launched the latest advancements in our innovation strategy with the rollout of Harvey and Copilot — two generative AI tools approved for firm work. All colleagues planning to use these resources will complete foundational AI training, professional responsibility training, and Harvey and Copilot-specific training so everyone can confidently use these tools in their work. With strategic and thoughtful use, these tools can help us deliver better, faster, and more consistent work — allowing more time for judgment, strategy, and client relationships.

We couldn’t continue to perform at the level we have if not for the exceptional counsel and dedication of our attorneys and consultants. And we couldn’t reach for new levels if not for the support of former colleagues and forever friends like you.

Thank you.
