Our firm represented a regional medical center in connection with its acquisition by Lifepoint Health. We represented the medical center in the transaction, as well as with respect to its identification and self-reporting of non-compliance with the Stark Law’s lease exception arising out of the part-time lease of space also billed as a provider-based location of the medical center. In addition, we assisted with the voluntary refund to its appropriate Medicare administrative contractor (MAC) certain Medicare payments arising out of the misuse of the provider-based space.
