U.S. Bank Acts as Indenture Trustee in Two Bond Issuances in AMR Chapter 11

United States - New York

U.S. Bank acted as the indenture trustee in two bond issuances in the American Airlines chapter 11 case in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Richard Bernard represented U.S. Bank as trustee for two bond issuances — one for $1 billion was secured by slots, gates and routes (SGR bonds) and the other for $500 million was secured by a portfolio of MD-80 aircraft (aircraft bonds). The successful plan included the reinstatement of SGR bonds and the full payment of aircraft bonds, which came to term postpetition, with default interest and interest on interest.
