Parent Company Wins Summary Judgment in Wrongful Death Matter

The parent company of a dissolved electrical motor manufacturer obtained summary judgment in a wrongful death case, affirmed by the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Our firm defended a party in Cooper v. Lakewood Engineering et al.

The case involved the enforcement of a limitation of liability agreement. The wrongful death case presented issues of contract interpretation, successor products liability and the liability of a parent corporation for the acts of its subsidiary.
