Overview
Lisa Weigel provides insightful and innovative legal advice to private clients on sophisticated estate and tax planning. She also collaborates with corporate fiduciaries and other professionals for the efficient administration of estates and trusts.
Estate Planning
It’s common to think that estate planning is all about death, but Lisa disagrees: It’s about life! Whether it’s a marriage, a new addition to the family, planning for a company’s future, or anything in between, Lisa works with individuals and families to carefully craft a bespoke estate plan tailored to their needs and desires for the future. She takes a personal approach to estate planning: Lisa listens to her clients and learns what is important to them. More than simply drafting documents, Lisa helps clients build a comprehensive plan that accomplishes their goals and incorporates all aspects of their lives, while explaining complex estate planning and tax concepts clearly and concisely.
These specialized plans and techniques include preservation and growth of multigenerational wealth, minimization of taxes, and charitable giving and philanthropy. Lisa has helped clients to establish foundations, public charities, and other tax-exempt organizations to ensure clients leave a powerful, lasting legacy for future generations in the communities they serve.
Lisa emphasizes a holistic approach and routinely collaborates with financial advisors, accountants, family office executives, and other key stakeholders to ensure a global perspective to a client’s overall financial needs and future planning.
Estate Administration
When the need for administration of an estate or trust arises, Lisa works with fiduciaries, beneficiaries and other key stakeholders to achieve a smooth administration process. She works with trusted advisors all over the country to obtain appraisals of art, business interests and other assets; prepares clients’ federal and state estate tax returns and personal income tax returns; and educates executors, trustees and beneficiaries regarding the duties and expectations during the administration process.
Personal Interests
In her free time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling, particularly to her childhood hometown of Vicenza, Italy.
