Overview

Becca Kniffen focuses her practice on estate and tax planning, estate administration, and cemetery law. She devotes much of her work to counseling clients through difficult end-of-life decisions and significant life transitions — such as widowhood, divorce, or unexpected financial changes — with empathy and care. By combining technical planning with compassionate guidance, Becca empowers clients to navigate emotionally complex situations, helping them regain a sense of control and feel more prepared for the future.

Estate Planning & Administration

Becca’s estate planning practice centers on protecting legacies through tailored documents ranging from foundational wills to complex multigenerational wealth transfer and family business succession plans. She frequently travels throughout New York City to meet clients in their homes and communities, ensuring accessibility during the planning process.

Becca also advises on the intersection of estate planning and divorce law, collaborating with financial advisors to support women navigating significant financial challenges. In her administration practice, she guides executors and beneficiaries through asset distribution and property access issues, providing clarity when a loved one passes away without clear plans in place.

Becca’s work also includes preparing essential documents for incapacity planning and health care decision-making so clients are protected in all aspects of life.

Cemetery Law

Becca assists families with the legal complexities of cemetery plot ownership and succession. She advises on the disposition of remains and ensures all necessary documentation is in place to honor specific burial wishes, providing families with peace of mind during sensitive decision-making processes.

Personal Interests

In her free time, Becca enjoys studying foreign languages, gardening in warm weather, snowboarding in snowy weather, and reading mystery novels/listening to true-crime podcasts. Her interests in cemetery law and mystery novels stem from the fact that her family has a plot in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, made famous by Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
