Property Tax Appeals & Disputes

In her prior roles, Miriam has prepared and reviewed personal property tax returns and checked property tax bills for accuracy. For clients who own commercial, industrial, residential, or special-use properties, she monitors assessments and files annual appeals. To support valuation arguments during the appeal process, Miriam has overseen the hiring of appraisers. She also manages personal property tax audits.

To help lower clients’ tax burden, Miriam has maintained compliance for various programs, including payments in lieu of taxes (PILOT), abatements, and exemptions. She has provided regular forecasting and estimates for owners’ portfolios. In addition, when developers planned new projects, Miriam has prepared property tax estimates.

At Faegre Drinker, Miriam continues to support associates and partners with research, appeal support, and any administrative tasks to assist clients. 

Personal Interests

Outside the office, Miriam is an avid reader, and sometimes writer. In the spring she likes gardening and being outside with nature. Miriam is a fan of the classics, so she enjoys ballet both spectating and practicing. She loves to travel, try new foods and restaurants, attend concerts and festivals, and spend time with family and friends.
