Overview

Hans Frank-Holzner counsels clients in litigation and dispute resolution. Drawing on his multicultural background and international upbringing, he approaches issues from multiple perspectives and helps develop creative, thoughtful solutions.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining the firm, Hans served as a law clerk to the Honorable Matthew E. Johnson of the Minnesota Court of Appeals. In this role, he conducted legal research and analysis, drafted bench memoranda, and assisted in the preparation of judicial opinions. Hans also completed two summer associate positions with the firm, where he supported attorneys across litigation, corporate, and real estate matters.

While in law school, Hans developed substantial experience in appellate advocacy, administrative law, and legal writing. As a certified student attorney and later student director in the University of Minnesota Law School's Federal Immigration Litigation Clinic, he researched, drafted, and reviewed appellate briefs in matters before the US Courts of Appeal and the US Supreme Court, including contributing to the merits briefing in Campos-Chaves v. Garland. Hans also served as a research assistant to Professor Kristin E. Hickman, conducting research and drafting updates for a leading administrative law treatise, and taught first-year law students as a legal research and writing instructor. Additionally, he worked with American Gateways preparing immigration applications and providing French- and Spanish-language support for clients.

Before law school, Hans held roles focused on community engagement, advocacy, and public policy. As neighborhood and global engagement coordinator at The Falls Church Anglican, he developed service initiatives and established a refugee support program for families undergoing resettlement. Earlier, Hans worked as a policy associate with Jubilee USA Network, supporting advocacy efforts and outreach initiatives involving policymakers and international organizations.

Personal Interests

Outside of the office, Hans enjoys going on walks with his wife and one-and-a-half year old daughter. He enjoys thought-provoking books and films and discussing them with friends. Hans and his family live in intentional community with eight University of Minnesota undergraduate and graduate students.
