Overview

Abyen Aden counsels public and privately held companies on a variety of corporate matters, including transactions, governance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior Experience

Before joining the firm, Abyen developed a broad foundation in legal research, advocacy and client service through a variety of roles. As a student attorney with the Vanderbilt Immigration Clinic, she conducted legal research, drafted and filed applications for immigration relief, advocated for clients, and worked closely with individuals exposed to severe trauma.

Her experience also includes a law clerk externship with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Nashville, where she drafted motions, conducted research, attended court hearings and assisted with case management. Earlier roles include working serving as an employment counselor where she assisted clients with job searches, resume building and interview preparation, and facilitated work readiness classes. Additionally, she interned at the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy, conducting research on industrial pollutants, tracking legislative bills, and drafting briefs for legislative and team use.

Abyen was a summer associate with the firm for two consecutive summers, rotating through the labor and employment, corporate and business litigation groups. She researched legal issues, drafted memoranda, participated in depositions and mediations, and contributed to firm-led pro bono projects.

Personal Interests

Outside of the office, Abyen is interested in traveling, having been to over 15 countries. She enjoys learning new languages and reading.
