London attorneys Jeremy Andrews, Richard Tall, Hans-Christian Mehrens, and James Shepherd co-authored an article for Defence Online titled “Key 2026 Trends in M&A and Investment in Defence Systems in the UK and Europe.”
The authors discuss how the war in Ukraine and conflicts in the Middle East will continue to play critical roles in how the defence sectors of the UK and Europe shift in the coming year. In particular, how low-cost and mass-produced technology, such as drones, are forcing investors, policymakers and corporations to recalibrate business strategies.
“Ultimately, the future of the UK and European defence industries will be shaped by the ability of both incumbents and new entrants to deliver rapid, defence-tech innovation backed by capital, enabled by policy and forged in the crucible of modern conflict,” the authors note.
