Corporate partner Brittney Yocum spoke with Indiana Lawyer for a Q&A that provided an overview of her career path and how working in a corporate group early in her practice ignited a passion for mergers and acquisitions.
Yocum said that she was placed in a corporate group as a summer associate, which kickstarted her career in transactional law, noting that she enjoyed the “blend of legal, strategic and business considerations that come together with each transaction” in M&A law.
“My prediction — and also my hope — is that M&A activity will pick up as market conditions stabilize and there’s greater certainty around economic trends in U.S. trade policy,” Yocum added when asked about M&A predictions for 2026. “I believe that service industries will continue to show resilience and strength, because they are less susceptible to some of these market conditions and have been areas of M&A that have consistently been busy, and I think that they’ll continue to stay busy.”
